Can you tell me if you have some information about Andrew's Raid? I am a teacher in the Whitfield County System, and I am interested in creating a lesson for my students concerning this event. I have spoken previously with Ted Yarbrough who tells me that he and some teachers at Dalton State were involved with this a few years ago. Can you give me any information about this?
Hi Debbie! The New Georgia Encyclopedia has information about Andrew's Raid: http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/history-archaeology/andrews-raid
Roberts Library has several items that may be of help. They are listed here http://gilfind.daltonstate.edu/vufind/Search/Results?lookfor=andrew%27s+raid&type=AllFields&submit.x=0&submit.y=0
The 8th grade social studies kit that Ted worked on is available for checkout, and there are some related books that may help too.
There is a website devoted to Andrew's Raid here http://andrewsraid.com/index2.html
Also, many of the Georgia history books will contain pieces of information that may help you with developing a lesson for your students. I hope this helps! Reply if you think of any further questions.
